Reducing the burden
Continuing education programmes provide
doctors not only with information on current
research results in diagnosis and therapy but also with useful multidisciplinary views and hands-on training regarding the latest technical developments.
Consequently, disseminating the newest
advances in the field of gastroenterology to the
individual practitioners and researchers reduces
the burden of digestive diseases.
Supporting promising activities
In fostering this information transfer, the UEGF
Education Committee strongly relies on the
collaboration of its member associations, who
perform many of these activities. The Federation
offers them financial aid and personal support.
The UEGF Training Support programme comprises
longterm
partnerships of up to three years’ duration
with particularly promising educational activities
of member societies or other professional groups.
Another branch of this programme supports
initiatives which intend to employ advanced
methods of teaching in gastro entero logical
education. Thanks to the committee’s efforts, CME
credits can be obtained for UEGF’s educational
courses, and the harmonisation of training
standards and evaluation is well underway.
