UEGF-EASL Professional Trainee Course 2010
Cholestatic Liver Disease
Medical Sciences Teaching Center, Oxford/UK

UEGF and EASL joined efforts and organized the first UEGF-EASL Professional Trainee Course in 2010!
It was with great pleasure that UEGF and EASL welcomed 72 participants from 27 different countries from all over Europe and beyond (f.e. USA, Nigeria, South Africa, Taiwan, Zambia) to the first UEGF-EASL Professional Trainee Course in Oxford, UK.

The meeting on Cholestatic Liver Disease was held from Friday-Saturday, July 9-10, 2010 at the Medical Sciences Teaching Center and combined state-of-the-art lectures on primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis and pediatric cholestatic liver disease with parallel workshops on ERCP in difficult bile duct stones, cholestatic liver through the microscope and drug induced cholestasis.

Young gastroenterologists from many different fields very much appreciated the high quality programme and were encouraged to participate actively. They posed questions and commented on presented cases. The parallel workshops complemented the theoretical knowledge gained and all participants were able to raise open questions or pressing issues. With the great support of dedicated Faculty members the attendees could take away lots of new knowledge and great experiences.

Please use the link below for a view of the scientific programme.

During the evenings, there were opportunities for the delegates and Faculty to meet, socialize and exchange ideas, which was appreciated just as much as the lectures during the day.

Thanks are due to Prof. Peter Jansen, Prof. Roger Chapman and Prof. Lars Aabakken for the development of the scientific programme. Special thanks go also to the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre for the allocation of their facilities and their personnel onsite support as well as to Wadham College Oxford for accommodation of the participants and organization of the evening programmes.
